The Barren County Concert Bands have, once again, set the standard for performance in our district.  From April 18-20, the 7th grade Beginning Band, 8th grade Concert Band, and High School Concert Band performed at the KMEA Large Ensemble Festival in Bowling Green.  The bands were evaluated by a panel of 3 judges on their prepared music, and sight read for a separate judge.  The 7th grade band received straight distinguished ratings.  The 8th grade band received straight distinguished ratings with 2 judges awarding a "distinguished plus" rating; making the 8th grade band the highest scoring middle school band at the festival.  The High School Band received straight distinguished ratings with one judge awarding a "distinguished plus" and another awarding a "distinguished double-plus" rating; making the High School Band the highest rated band of the entire festival!  Congratulations to all of the band students.
