James Lennis "Cotton" Beam, 75, of Scottsville, KY died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care.  The Scottsville, KY native was a farmer, retired truck driver, U.S. Army veteran and member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and Graham Lodge #208 F & A M.  He was a son of the late James Willie Beam and Hautie Mae Williams Beam and husband of the late Laverne Arterburn Beam.

He is survived by 2 sons:  Jim Beam and wife, Serena, Port Washington, OH and Bruce Beam and wife, Pam, Norfolk, VA;1 brother:  Chester Beam, Bowling Green, KY;4 grandchildren:  Christopher Wisely, Ashton Beam, Makenzie Beam and Will Beam and 1 unborn grandson;Special Friends:  Faye Willoughby and family, Scottsville, KY;Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters:  Eula Mae Ogles and Rhea Johnson and 2 brothers:  Noble Beam and Edgar Beam.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. B. R. Tade officiating and burial in the New Hope Cemetery.   Visitation will be 3 to 9 pm Monday and 7 to 10 am Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.  Visitation will then be at 11 a.m. Tuesday until funeral time at New Hope Church.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
