Glasgow Police were called to an accident in the tunnel on Water Street yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

Officers were dispatched to the location at 3:49 and upon arrival found a Rent-a-Center box delivery truck had tried to pass through the tunnel, which is clearly marked with  7 foot clearance signage, however, the truck has a clearance limit of 11 feet, 6 inches, which is posted just to the side of it’s driver’s side door.

Upon striking the entrance to the tunnel, the cargo area was torn away from the rest of the truck and scattered through the tunnel.

There were two occupants in the truck, the driver, Robert K. Sowers and a co-worker, neither of which complained of injury.
