The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wreck with injury Wednesday morning on Old Lexington Road.

Heather L. Waggoner, 24, of Horse Cave was traveling west in her 2006 Chevrolet passenger car when a 2002 Chevrolet Van driven by Deion E. Waggoner also of Horse Cave sideswiped her vehicle while trying to pass. Her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway.  She then over corrected the vehicle, went across the roadway, and began to overturn multiple times, striking a fence and a tree before coming to a stop in a field.

Heather Waggoner was taken by Air Methods to the University of Louisville hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Deputy Aaron Bennett is investigating the accident and was assisted by Deputy Kevin Wilson, Barren Metcalfe EMS, and the Cave City VFD.
