State Police are warning the public of another "Phishing" scam over the phone.

According to Trooper Norman Chaffins, people receive an automated call saying their credit card has been cancelled, and to be re-activated, enter the card and pin numbers.

If you do that, Chaffins says the scammers can make purchases or get cash from your account.

He urges people to hang up and call your customer service number immediately. He also suggests checking your phone's caller ID, since banks will show their name and number, and if you see a strange row of numbers or a short number, that should raise a red flag.
