The City of Glasgow will be applying for some grants after last night’s meeting of the Glasgow City Council.  The first is a grant from the Kentucky Pride Fund to upgrade the conveyer and bailer system in the city’s recycling program.  The project would cost over $202,000 with city matching 25% to the KPF’s 75%.

The next grant is from the Federal Highway Administration.  The grant would be used to update the recreational trails at Beaver Trail Park.  The city agreed to set aside $10,000 in the budget to match the federal grant of the same amount.

The council passed a resolution last night indicating it’s willingness to assist WKU Glasgow with any expansion of facilities efforts.  Here’s Mayor Trautman:

The City Council opted to go into closed session to discuss the expansion of a local business.  What business and to what extent the expansion was not made public as Mayor Rhonda Trautman made no announcement once the council was brought back into open session.
