United Way of Southern Kentucky is holding a region wide food drive. The food drive called “Feed the Need” was created in 2009 in response to the needs of basic resources due to the economic downturn in the area. Companies, organizations, and groups in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson and Warren Counties can participate by holding internal food drives starting on Monday. Food Drives will also be at Houchens markets, Save-A-Lot, IGA, Food Lion, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General Market and Walmart in the seven participating counties on April 12th-13th. All donations will benefit food banks in the county where the food was collected in. The food Drive will end April 13.
