18-year-old Michael W. Scott of Columbia was arrested on Saturday, February 16th and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, No/Expired Registration Plates and No/Expired Registration Receipt. Scott was traveling north on Buell Collins Road in a 2003 Ford truck when he failed to negotiate a turn, traveled off road and struck a tree. Post 15 received a call about the collision at 10:03 PM CST and when officers arrived at the scene no one was there. The investigation revealed that Scott had been taken by a private vehicle to his home on Harlan Brown Road and a passenger, 18-year-old Lonnie Mann, of Columbia, was taken to the Westlake Hospital. Mann was then flown to University Hospital in Louisville where he remains in stable condition. Scott was lodged in the Adair County Jail. The Adair County Sheriff's Department assisted.
