Holice Depp Britt, age 88, died Saturday February 9, 2013 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green, Ky.  The Allen County native was the son of the late William Isaac “Dink” Britt and Nora Alice Wood Britt.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patty Britt, Bessie Jenkins, Ruby Barger, Pauline Minick and Fannie Britt and his brothers, Drury, Travis, Elbert Edward, Jonas, Glen, Jess, Floyd and Carl Edward.  He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Depp was a member of the Dover Missionary Baptist Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent and Song Leader for over 50 years.  He was the president for the Allen Co. Singing Convention for over 38 years, Chairman of the board of trustees for the Tabernacle and had been very active in many other civic and community organizations.  Depp was a barber by trade and a musician at heart.  He served as Allen Co. Sheriff from 1962 – 1965 and then became state investigator for the Dept. of Public Advocacy where he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Britt, of Scottsville and two sons, Depp Britt Jr., of Memphis, Tn. and William Carlton “Bill” Britt, of Nashville, Tn.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Monday February 11th at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 12th at the Scottsville Baptist Church with burial in the Dover Church Cemetery. Memorial Donation can be made to the Dover Church Building Fund.
