| LOCAL SWIMMERS EXCEL AT REGION MEET THIS WEEKEND |

Area High school swimmers competed at the Region 1 swim meet in Owensboro, Kentucky last Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Scotties Meghan Taylor captured 1st place in the 50 free and the 100 free and set new school records in the process. As a result of these titles, she was named top female athlete of the meet. Meghan has qualified for the KHSAA State Meet on February 22-23 in Louisville, KY.
Grayson Reynolds finished 10th in the 200 free and 6th in the 500 free with a new school record. She has also qualified for the KHSAA State meet in the 500 free.
The 200 medley relay team of Grayson, Meghan, Addison Reynolds, Brooklyn Brown, and Hannah Goodson finished 13th in the region. The 400 free relay team of Grayson, Meghan, Addison Reynolds, Brooklyn Brown, and Ashley Fye finished 11th in the region.
In addition to these six swimmers, Zoe Wooten, Rachel Howard, and Whitney Raines also participated in the Region One Meet.
Barren County's Girls team had strong finishes at the end of the meet. Kennedy Ludwig and Page London were able to place in the top 16 to score for the Trojanettes. Barren County was also able to earn placement in all three relays to help secure a team placement of 14th.
During the men's meet, Barren County's Chris Marshal was able to crack the top 5 in the 200 IM. Marshal also earned a top 10 finish in the 100 Butterfly event. The Trojans were able to earn placement in the 200 freestyle relay as well as the 400 freestyle. Barren County finished the day placing finishing 16th in Men's team scores.
