METCALFE COUNTY MAN DIES IN ICE-RELATED INCIDENT PDF Print

A tragic fatality occurred in the midst of the weekend ice storm that took the life of a Metcalfe County man.  The accident happened at 11:30 on Friday morning on the Bill Pedigo Road about 6 miles north of Edmonton.  A vehicle was off the road at that location and a wrecker had been called to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.  The wrecker was dispatched from Edmonton Marathon, and was driven by Danny Lohden.  At the time the roadway was ice covered and the location was on a hill.  The driver of the wrecker couldn’t stop.  A by-stander, 74 year old Willy L. Jones slipped on the ice in front of the wrecker.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County Coroner.  The Watts and Percel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which can be found by clicking HERE .Also responding were the Barren Metcalfe EMS and the North Metcalfe Volunteer Fire Department.
