The Barren County Sheriff’s Department investigated a traffic accident on Dripping Springs Road.  On Tuesday, January 22nd, at 7:23 am, 55-year-old Darrell Perkins of Smiths Grove KY was traveling south bound on Stovall road, and when he approached the intersection of dripping springs road, 29-year-old Justin Osborn of Park City failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled out in front of Perkins. Osborn was traveling west bound on Dripping Springs Road when he entered the pathway of Perkins. After initial impact, Osborn struck a tree before coming to rest and Perkins overturned – coming to rest on the driver’s side. He had to be freed by non mechanical means.

Perkins and Osborn were taken to TJ Samson Hospital. Perkins was later transferred to the University of Louisville for a head injury.

Osborn stated that he didn’t know what happened.  Perkins stated that s he was traveling south bound, he saw Osborn approaching the stop sign but stated that he didn’t see Osborn stop at the sign. Perkins stated that he was traveling about 55 mph but started slowing down prior to impact.
