Metcalfe County Schools were dismissed early Wednesday, January 16, 2013 after an alleged bomb threat.

A note was found at around 7 A.M. Wednesday morning that stated bombs had been placed at Metcalfe County High School as well as the middle school, elementary schools, old middle school and the gym at Edmonton Elementary.

As a result students were sent home early, school officials say all students were kept safe and out of harms way at all times.

Kentucky State Police along with the Metcalfe County Sheriffs Office and Edmonton City Police will conduct a search today of all the buildings. They were also assisted by The North Metcalfe and Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Departments.

School officials say all schools will be in session Thursday, January 17, 2013
