Neva Hestand Walden, 90, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Friday, January 11th, at Monroe County Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Tompkinsville.

Neva was born in Tompkinsville, KY on May 12, 1922, a daughter of the late Delma (Slaughter) and Dumas Hestand. On December 24, 1946, she married Boyd Walden, who precedes her in death. They were both faithful members of the Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.

Neva graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1940. She then worked as a nurse for Dr. Bushong. After retiring from nursing, she then worked as a extension agent assistant for the Monroe County Extension Office, and also retired from there.

Neva is survived by two brothers, Rayburn Hestand, of Tompkinsville, KY; Cleburn Hestand, of Tompkinsville, KY; two sisters, Imelda Wood of South Carolina, and Francis Butler of Joelton, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Walden; her parents, Dumas and Delma Hestand; a brother, Bobby Hestand and a sister, Bonnie Mitchell.

Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 13th,  with Bro. Tom Stokes and Lewis Hestand officiating. Visitation is Saturday, January 12 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. and Sunday, January 13 from 6:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M..   at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Old Mt. Herman Cemetery
