Reese Howard, 90, of Bee Spring died at 3:33 PM Wednesday Jan. 9, 2013 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.

The Clark County native was a retired commercial fisherman and a Navy veteran of World War II, during which he was held in a Japanese POW camp in Burma for 42 months. He was a son of the late John Howard and Rosalie Parido Howard.

Surviving are two sons, Rooks Howard (Kayla) of Roundhill and Timothy Howard (Mickenzi) of Bee Spring; a daughter, Mary Lee Younger (Jesse) of Winchester; a step son, Harold “Bobo” Butler of Brownsville; a sister, Mary Lewis of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren, Joey Brewer, Cody Howard and Raegan Howard; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11AM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 PM Sunday, 9 AM-9 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
