Munfordville Police were instrumental late Thursday night in catching a man from Louisville who was on a crime spree. 35-year-old Fabian Valentine, just released from jail a week ago.  He's being returned to Louisville, on warrants charging him with 8 armed robberies dating back to late October, 5 since last Sunday.

Police say Valentine's been most notorious in the last week for brazenly robbing the same US Bank branch, 2 days in a row. Then Thursday, he's alleged to have robbed a pair of convenience stores. He was collared Thursday evening by Munfordville Police, driving erratically on I-65. The car had been stolen in Louisville.

Louisville Robbery & Financial Crimes Lieutenant Jennifer Coe credits Munfordville officers with the bust:

She adds several tips came in on her department's anonymous tipline, letting Louisville know just whom they were after.

Lt. Coe says Valentine has a long criminal record, and is a dangerous man it's good to have off the streets.  He'd been paroled from state prison back in June, then landed behind bars again in late October.  He got released from Metro Corrections late last Friday night, minutes after midnight on Saturday the 1st.  Then, the next day, he's alleged to have launched the spree, robbing a convenience store.

Here's LMPD's list of the 8 robberies Valentine's being charged with this time...
