On Saturday, November 17th, members of the Barren County Bands, grades 7-10 auditioned for the KMEA 3rd District Honors Bands. All applicants were required to play 2 pieces of prepared music, demonstrate fundamentals, and sight read in a blind audition against students from 13 surrounding counties. Monica O. Including the five alternates, Barren County had 28 students named to the 2013 all district bands during this round of auditions. When considering members of the 11-12 band, who auditioned on November 10th, Barren County Public Schools had the following results:
38 students placed in the 3rd All-District Bands with 7 alternates; for a total of 45!
