On Saturday, November 17^th, members of the Barren County Bands, grades 7-10 auditioned for the KMEA 3^rd District Honors Bands.  All applicants were required to play 2 pieces of prepared music, demonstrate fundamentals, and sight read in a blind audition against students from 13 surrounding counties.  Monica O. Crowder (director of the BCMS Band) and Dr. Kip Crowder (director of the BCHS Band) are pleased to report the following results.

Including the five alternates, Barren County had 28 students named to the 2013 all district bands during this round of auditions.  When considering members of the 11-12 band, who auditioned on November 10^th, Barren County Public Schools had the following results:

38 students placed in the 3^rd All-District Bands with 7 alternates; for a total of 45!
