The Office of the Barren County Judge/ Executive, along with the Office of the Barren County Court Clerk, has completed the qualification process of the local option election petition filed in the County Clerk's Office on November 2, 2012, which petition requested that a local option election be held in the Dry Fork B-103(Thomerson Park) Precinct on the sale of wine at the proposed Mattingly Farms Winery, Pursuant to KRS 243.155 and KRS 242.020.

Following the process which involved a through review of each name on the petition and verification of their registration, date of birth, residence location, and proper signatures, the petition has been found to comply with the requirements of KRS 242.020 because it contains signatures of constitutionally qualified voters of the Dry Fork B-103 (Thomerson Park) Precinct equal to a least twenty-five percent (25%) of the votes cast in this precinct at the last preceding general election from the time the petition was filed.

To this end and pursuant to KRS 242.020 (5), the County Judge Executive has signed and Executive Order on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, ordering that an election be held in the Dry Fork B-103 (Thomerson Park) Precinct on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, by placing the following question on the ballot: "Are you in favor of the sale of wine at the proposed Mattingly Farms Winery?"
