Yesterday was a very special day for the Barren County School System, but more importantly, to Hiseville Elementary. The auto manufacturer, Toyota, helped United Way of Kentucky and Barren County Schools launch an innovative early learning program at Hiseville Elementary School, with an $11,500 grant. The local grant is one of the 10 statewide that will help create Toyota bornlearning Academies in 10 Kentucky elementary schools this year; Toyota has committed to investing $500,000 over the next five years in preparing Kentucky’s children for kindergarten.

Bornlearning Academies help teach parents and caregivers of children from prenatal to five years old how to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities.

 

Today is Gayle Berry Day!!!  Gayle is retiring July 31 from the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.  A reception is being held today from 1-3.
