Raymond Merle Tooley, 81, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away  Thursday, November 1st, at his home. On April 21, 1956 in Celina, Tn. he married Louise (Hammer) Tooley, who passed away on December 14, 1984. Merle was born in Monroe County, KY on October 18, 1931, a son of the late Opal (Huff) and Joe Tooley.

He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He worked as a farmer and was a member of  the Church of Christ. Merle was known by all for his musical talents.

Merle is survived by a daughter, Rayna (Doug) Page of Tompkinsville, KY; two sons Jerry, (Debbie) Tooley, of Tompkinsville, KY; and Michael (Tammy) Tooley, of Bowling Green, KY. Merle is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Louise Hammer Tooley and his parents, Joe and Opal (Huff) Tooley.

Funeral services will be held  at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, KY, at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 4th,  with Lewis Blythe officiating.  Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation begins Saturday 1:00 P.M. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home and Sunday 6:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
