Glasgow Police responded to the intersection of West Water and North Liberty Streets Wednesday afternoon just after 2 in reference to a traffic accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Terri Mercer of Glasgow stated that she was traveling north on  North Liberty and as she drove through the intersection of West Water Street she struck a vehicle driven by Matthew Rhinehart of  Knob Lick.

Rhinehart told officers that he was traveling east on West Water and he didn’t see the stop sign.  He stated that he didn't stop and he drove through the intersection and he was struck in the right side by the Mercer vehicle.   This collision caused the Rhinehart to strike an unoccupied vehicle at Star Tel Systems owned by Don Wyatt of Glasgow.

Mercer and Rhinehart both refused medical treatment at the scene but a passenger in the Rhinehart vehicle, Brian Via of Glasgow was transported to the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.
