Bobby Ray Stinson, 72, of Scottsville, Ky died at 1:57 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tn. The Scottsville, Ky native was a former police officer for Scottsville Police Department, former officer for National Security in Yuma, Arizona, former owner of Hometown Service Station and attended Powerhouse Worship Center. He was a son of the late James Harry Stinson and Celia May Cooper Stinson. He is survived by his wife: Rita Mae Stinson, Scottsville, Ky; 2 sons: Bobby Joe Stinson and Darrell Lee Stinson, both of Scottsville, Ky; 3 daughters: Cindy Johnson, Scottsville, Ky; Wendy Weaver and husband, John, Adolphus, Ky; Linda Fine and husband, Darrell, Sevierville, Tn; 2 step sons: Michael Rupe and wife, Lindsey, Hebron, Ky and Jerry Francis, Glasgow, Ky; 8 grandchildren: Matthew Stephens, Michael Stephens, Bo Stephens and wife, Melissa, Nikki Gaines and husband, Phillip, Miranda Weaver, John Wesley Stinson, Amanda Carol Turner & Robbie Lee Morris; 7 great grandchildren: Jayleight, Kaydence, Bailey, Hayden, Eric, Dalton & Mattie May; 2 step grandchildren: Cameron and Lucas; He was preceded in death by his first wife: Carolyn Ann Carter Stinson; 6 brothers: H.O. Cooper, Oscar Cooper, William Winburn, "Tush Cooper", Hildred Cooper, Edward Cooper and J.L. Cooper; 1 grandson: Eric Dale Turner; 2 sons-in-law: Jeff Turner and Ricky Joe Johnson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Carter officiating and burial in Oak Forest No. 1 Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.
