Barbara Jean Lashley, 74, of Bowling Green died at 8:30 AM August 7, 2012 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Edmonson County native was a prep cook for Ray’s Drive-in and a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Percy Jim Cook and Mary Marie Ashley Cook.

Surviving are her husband, Melba Lashley; a son, James Lashley (Teresa) of Bowling Green; eight daughters, Brenda Stallings, Marilyn Conley (Gaylon) and Sarah Duff (Tony) all of Bowling Green, Carolyn Howard (Ricky) and Joyce Wells (Dale) both of Smiths Grove, Karen Carroll (David) of Auburn and Sharon Durbin (Johnny) and Amy Wooten (Robbie) both of Cave City; four brothers, William Cook of Poplar Springs, Eddie Cook of Lincoln, Jimmy Cook of Bee Spring and Sherman Cook of Brownsville; two sisters, Lorene Rich of Bee Spring and Nelsie Jones of Canton, TX; 25 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Brownsville General Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-9 PM Wednesday and after 9 AM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home.
