Chantell Amos

 

Chantell Devaro Amos departed this life on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born July 9, 1987, in Glasgow, she was a 2006 graduate of Glasgow High School and had been employed at Subway in Glasgow for 7 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Kessley Faye Amos; her mother, Deloris Faye Driver Amos Short; her father, Leroy “Boggie” H. Amos, Jr.; one sister, Ashley M. Sweatt (Dustin Austin); Maternal grandparent, Norma Jean (Donnie “Cadillac” Brown) of Glasgow; Paternal grandparent, Leroy H. Amos, Sr. of Indianapolis; five nephews, Jabari J. Sweatt, Kenyon T. Martin, Tyson K. Martin, Keyshawn M. Austin, and Bobby J. Barbour; seven aunts, Brenda (Ricky) Wood, Judy (William) Woods, Sue (Kenny) Francis, Gaye Martin, Ann (Kenny) Doakes all of Glasgow, Rocky (Howard) Rice and Marie (Micky) Paul all of Hart County, Neverly Boards of Bowling Green, Kim Amos, Kanisha Amos, Kathy Amos, Kelly Willis, and Lacie Willis all of Indianapolis; three uncles, Robert (Joyce) Driver of Glasgow, Rodney Amos and Royal Amos of Indianapolis; a very special friend, John Andrews; and a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Driver, her paternal grandparent, Hazel J. Amos, an aunt, Linda Haskins, and a cousin, Antwyan (Smoke) Nuckols.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
