Darrell Dallas Strode, 65, of Bowling Green, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2012, in the comfort of his home after a long journey with Alzheimer’s.  He was the son of the late Leslie and Frona Elmore Strode.

A Cave City native, he was a graduate of Caverna High School and attended Lindsey Wilson College and Western Kentucky University.  He was a member of Basil Chapel United Baptist Church.  His career began on the farms of northern Barren County and later included factory work.

He is survived by his loving wife, caretaker and friend, Patsy R. Webb Strode, one daughter, Michelle D. Strode; one son, Derick B. Strode; two grandchildren, Cameron and Bryanne Neighbors, all of Bowling Green; two brothers, Gene Strode (Francine) and Bill Strode, both of Cave City; two half sisters, Ethel Poynter and Elva Dennison (James), both of Cave City.

Funeral services with Wayne Toms officiating will be at 11 AM Friday, July 6th at Basil Chapel United Baptist Church with burial in the Poplar Springs Cemetery.  Visitation at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, will be on Thursday, July 5th from 3:30 to 8:00 PM and after 9 AM on Friday until 10:30 AM.
