A two-vehicle collision Monday night at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Westview Drive sent 3 people to TJ Samson Community Hospital for treatment. The wreck occurred just before 9pm as a 2003 Chevy S-10 truck driven by Benjamin Taylor, 19, of Hardyville, was headed south on Westview Drive and failed to stop at the stop sign, as he was making a left turn onto Happy Valley Road. As he attempted the turn, his truck was struck in the side by a car that was westbound on Happy Valley Road, a 1995 Nissan Altima driven by 24-year-old Ashley Wittle of Cave City. Skid marks on the scene show that Wittle tried to brake and turn toward the center lane in what is suspected to be an attempt to avoid a collision with the Taylor vehicle. In the impact between the two vehicles, the front end of the Wittle vehicle struck the driver’s side rear of the Taylor vehicle, causing both vehicles to spin uncontrollably until coming to a final rest. Wittle, Taylor and a passenger in the Taylor vehicle, Tracy N. Huff, 32, of Glasgow, were taken to TJ Samson Community Hospital for treatment.
