Just before 6:30 Tuesday evening March 13, a two-vehicle crash called emergency personnel to North Jackson Hwy near Griderville and sent a Barren County woman to the hospital.

It appears the accident occurred when Angela K. Cross, 38 of Glasgow, the driver of a southbound 2000 Nissan Frontier was slowing down to make a turn, when she was rear ended by a 1988 Buick Lesabre, driven by 28-year-old Charles A. Compton of Center.

Compton told deputies he was attempting to slow down, but his vehicle wouldn’t stop in time.

Cross was transported by Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where she was later released.

Compton refused medical transport.

Deputy Chris Wyatt investigated and was assisted by Deputy Aaron Bennett.

The Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department were first responders at the scene.
