DOMESTIC ASSAULT LEADS TO HIGH SPEED CHASE, AND ARREST PDF Print

Timothy GuessA call to 911 dispatch Wednesday afternoon November 30, shortly before 5:00 in reference to a domestic assault, soon led Sheriff Chris Eaton, Deputies and other law enforcement agencies on a vehicle pursuit.

Sergeant Jeff Wright of the Cave City Police Department was dispatched to a possible assault at the Star Motel. Upon arrival Officer Wright found the female victim in the parking lot and confirmed she had been assaulted. Sgt. Wright then gave dispatch a description of the male violator and vehicle information as well as direction of travel which was passed on to deputies with the Barren County Sheriff Office.

Sheriff Chris Eaton and Deputy Mike Houchens soon made contact with the said vehicle traveling on North Jackson Highway near Tick Ridge Road. Attempts to stop the 1998 Chevy Malibu were refused by the driver, 24-year-old Timothy R. Guess of Glasgow, a short pursuit then ensued with Guess running several vehicles off the roadway and nearly causing a head-on collision.

Sheriff Eaton was finally able to get in front of the fleeing vehicle with Deputy Houchens on one side blocking it against a guardrail bringing the chase to an end.

Guess was taken into custody without further incident and lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on charges of fourth-degree assault, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, driving DUI suspended license second offense (aggravated) and first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer).

Deputy Aaron Bennett, KSP Trooper Wesley Medley and Barren County Constable Charles Shaw also assisted.
