A Glasgow man was injured and taken to TJ Samson Community Hospital for treatment following a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of L Rogers Wells Blvd and 68/80 yesterday (Tuesday) at 3:13pm. The driver of one of the vehicles, Sheila E. Moon, 54, of Glasgow, stated that she entered the middle lane of 68/80 in an attempt to turn into the parking lot of PBI Bank. Moon stated that she was waved to proceed into the parking lot by a person in a vehicle in the next lane, and as she began to make the turn, she was struck in the passenger side of her vehicle by a vehicle driven by Dora N. Gomar, 60, of Lebanon, Tennessee. Gomar stated that she was traveling eastbound on 68/80 and as she approached PBI Bank, Moon turned into her lane and she was unable to avoid colliding with the Moon vehicle. A witness to the accident stated there were several vehicles stopped in traffic in the lane where someone motioned Moon to make the turn into PBI Bank. The witness said that there was a gap created in front of the vehicle that waved Moon to proceed. Another witness to the accident stated that she observed Gomar traveling toward the intersection and subsequently observed Moon turn in front of Gomar. A passenger in the Moon vehicle, 47-year-old Gregory T. Dunn of Glasgow, was taken to TJ Samson Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries after having to be extricated mechanically from the vehicle by personnel with the Glasgow Fire Department. The drivers of both vehicles were not injured. Two passengers in the Gomar vehicle also were not injured. Officer Cowan of the Glasgow Police Department investigated.
