ONE MAN DIES IN HART COUNTY TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PDF Print

On Saturday,  at 8:25 P.M., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single fatal collision at the intersection of US 31 W and Lonoke Road in Hart County .

Mark Skaggs (38) of Munfordville,was traveling North on

Lonoke Road in his 2006 Nissan four door.   When Mr. Skaggs approached the intersection with US 31 he failed to stop at the stop sign on Lonoke Road.

The vehicle continued through the intersection causing him to exit the roadway.

Mr. Skaggs’ vehicle then struck a pile of rocks causing him to go airborne before striking a tree and coming to final rest.   Mr. Skaggs was pronounced deceased by the Hart County Coroner’s Office.

Mr. Skaggs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision and toxicology results are pending.   The investigation is ongoing and he being led by Trooper Jeremy Smith.

Trooper Smith was assisted by Kentucky State Police Sergeant Mitch Hampton, Trooper Daniel White, and members of the Munfordville Police Department, Hart Sheriff’s Office, Munfordville Fire Department, Hart County

EMS and Hart County Coroner’s office.
