November 1, 1991 – Glasgow wins “Hall of Fame” Award at Certified Cities luncheon held in Louisville.

November 1, 1991 – “More For Less” opens in Central Center Shopping Center. Danny Tracy is the manager of the discount grocery.

November 3, 1991 – Fall 50th Wedding Anniversaries are celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Bryant (Snook) Spillman and Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Fields.

November 3, 1991 – Dr. Joseph C Steele opens practice of prosthodontics in Edmonton.

November 7, 1991 – Major John Wayne Smith will be the guest speaker at the Annual Veteran’s dinner at Glasgow National Guard Armory.

November 10, 1991 – Plans are being made to clean up one of the oldest cemeteries in Glasgow located on Knob Rd., bordering the Church of Latter Day Saints and across the street from Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The approx. 4 acre cemetery has tombstones dating back to the 1800’s.

November 10, 1991 – Well known Glasgow radio station owner-operator Clovis Sadler, dies at age 71 in Louisville.

November 10, 1991 – Open House and Grand Opening of the newly remodeled and expanded Jeff’s Country Florist is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

November 12, 1991 – Glasgow Middle School cheerleaders are invited to participate in pregame and half time performances at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Ga., on New Years Day.

November 13, 1991 – Greg and Karen Glover, Temple Hill, received the Goodyear Award as the Barren County Conservation District’s outstanding cooperators for the past year.

November 13, 1991 – WW I Veterans honored this Veterans Day were John Hedges and wife, Mae, Charles Preibe and wife, Gladye, and widows, Mildred Cooksey, Dezzie Carlock, Flossie Fasanella, Mary Emma Smith and Lillie Mae Ellington.

November 14, 1991 – Happy Valley School presents “A time for Thanksgiving” with Shandi Christie and Kent Gosnell being two of the participants.

November 14, 1991 – Greer’s Florist opens in their new location at 2159 Scottsville Road.

November 14, 1991 – Harmon Barlow is the recipient of the Conrad Feltner award. Tina Hogue Hiser was the recipient of the Conrad Feltner Teen Award. These awards were presented by 4-H Council President Botts Walker.

November 14, 1991 – Margaret Crabtree and Evelyn Morrison are recognized for their contributions to the Foster Grandparent program.

November 17, 1991 – Ron Thomas has joined the staff at South Central Bank as loan officer and Vickie Sanders is promoted to Compliance Officer.

November 22, 1991 – Traffic lights are installed at the intersection of 31 E By pass and Barren River Plaza.

November 22, 1991 – Guy Patterson celebrates his 80th birthday with an open house for friends, former customers and fellow workers from his many years in the Service Station business.

November 24, 1991 – Jodi Sweetin (Full House), Big Red and UK Wildcat are the Grand Marshalls for the Christmas parade this year.

November 24, 1991 – A F Crow Funeral Home adds a 234 hour obituary information line.

November 25, 1991 – Top price for tobacco on opening day is $1.84 per pound, 10 cents above 1990’s average price of $1.75. Glasgow led the state with that price.

November 27, 1991 – Local contractor Glenn Reeves organizes a group to frame and get under roof the new home of James & Bessie Sloan on Hollis Thomas Rd., who lost their home in the storm which ripped thru last April.

November 29, 1991 – The Bicentennial Quilt is now on display in the County Judge Executive’s Office of the Barren County Courthouse. The quilt was quilted by the Barren County Homemakers.
