The Glasgow Board of Education met at 5:30 pm yesterday for a special called meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss technology and possibly take action as it relates to screens and/or “smartboards” for the new Glasgow High school under construction, to conduct a planning and goal-setting working session with the board and the school principals and to conduct a financial planning working session.

Scott Jones, principal of Glasgow Middle School, discussed the next year’s goals for the middle school…

Finally, Keith Hale, principal of Glasgow High School, talked about his excitement concerning the coming school year.  Hale discussed increasing flexibility of student schedules and additional course offerings. The Board approved the addition of smartboards in the classrooms of the new Glasgow High School that is under construction. Hale will be involved in the selection of the brand and model of the smartboard. Hale told WCLU News…

After the goal-setting session and the discussion on smartboards, the board went into a financial planning working session.

The next regular meeting of the Glasgow Board of Education is scheduled for August 8th at 6 pm in the Central Office.
