Guilty pleas:


DEANNA SMITH ANDERSON 27 of Oakland, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF FORGED INSTRUMENT-2ND DEGREE-3 COUNTS. The Commonwealth recommended a one (1) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

PATRICIA ELM COATS 54 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of WELFARE FRAUD OVER $100-4 COUNTS. The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

DEBBIE K. EMMERT 46 of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (METHAMPHETAMINE), PROMOTING CONTRABAND-1ST DEGREE, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A MINOR, OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE-1ST OFFENSE, DISREGARDING TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE. The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

GENE CARLTON JOHNSON 55 of Park City, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, 1ST OFFENSE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE PRECURSOR, 1ST OFFENSE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (METHAMPHETAMINE), POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, 2ND OFFENSE, FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE-2ND DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE), FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE-2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT), CRUELTY TO ANIMALS-2ND DEGREE,POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. The Commonwealth recommended a ten (10) year sentence.  The Court went ahead with formal sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to ten (10) years’ incarceration.

ALEX SCOTT MATTHEWS 21 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA 8 OUNCES OR MORE, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

NATHAN JAMES MILLER 30 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of UNLAWFUL DISTRIBUTION OF METHAMPHETAMINE PRECURSOR. The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

TASHA ANN RICHARDSON 31 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of FORGERY-2ND DEGREE-2 COUNTS, CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT-2ND DEGREE. The Commonwealth recommended a one (1) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

ERIC WILLIAM TURNER 28 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE PRECURSOR, 1ST OFFENSE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (MORPHINE), POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER. The Commonwealth recommended a twenty (20) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for September 12, 2011.

TYLER L. WHITNEY 19 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, July 18, 2011, to the charges of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. The Commonwealth recommended a forty-five (45) day sentence.  The Court went ahead with formal sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to forty-five (45) days’ incarceration.

 

Dismissals:

HEATHER RACHELLE SCOTT 30 of Glasgow, was originally charged with MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE ENDANGERMENT TO A CHILD-4TH DEGREE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE PRECURSOR, 1ST OFFENSE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (METHAMPHETAMINE). The Commonwealth moved to dismiss the action this week based on a co-defendant taking responsibility for the items which constituted charges against the defendant and stating that the defendant was not involved in the crime.

 

 

Today is Gayle Berry Day!!!  Gayle is retiring July 31 from the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.  A reception is being held today from 1-3.
