On July 3rd 2011 Officer Jeff Wright with the Cave City Police Department received a call of a disturbance at Budget Inn on North Dixie Highway in Cave City.

Upon contact, Cave City resident Raven Barlow had been struck by a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Cave City resident William Carter. Carter had been assaulted by Cave City resident Prince Fryer with a bicycle. Carter caused severe damage to the motel by driving his vehicle into the side of the building after he struck Barlow with the vehicle. Fryer had left the scene and was unable to be located. Barlow was transported to Caverna Hospital where she is in stable condition.

Carter was transported and lodged in the Barren County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (aggravating circumstances), failure of owner to maintain insurance 2nd offense, criminal mischief 1st degree and assault 1st degree.
