Charlie Franklin, age 92, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was retired from Civil Service as a police officer, WWII Army Veteran, former 32nd" Mason and a member of First Baptist Church of Horse Cave. He was also the oldest retired member of Munfordville Fire Department. The Barren County native was the son of the late Bert Franklin and Pearl Howard Franklin and the husband of the late Julia Ann Green Franklin.

He is survived by three nieces: Carolyn Faulkner (Daryl) of Munfordville, KY, Alice Arvie of Horse Cave, KY, Kendra Garvin of Louisville, KY; two nephews: William Garvin (Linda) of Horse Cave, KY, Kevin Garvin of Bowling Green, KY; several cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 and from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, Rev. Jamie Maxey, Rev. Hugh Heater and Rev. Warner Fishback officiating. Interment will be at Horse Cave Cemetery, Horse Cave, KY.
