Glasgow Fire responds to home, semi fires Wednesday

GLASGOW, Ky. – Fire personnel with the Glasgow Fire Department responded to two fires Wednesday.

A residential fire occurred at 9 a.m. The fire happened at 533 Bunche Ave, and smoke was showing from the front and rear of the home when they arrived.

Officials said the fire began in the kitchen stove. Personnel went inside the home and discovered the fire in the kitchen.

There was fire damage to the stove and cabinets. It was extinguished and contained within the kitchen. Other smoke damage was noted throughout the house.

The resident of the home and fire personnel were not injured. Units were there approximately 40 minutes.

The other fire happened at 12:13 p.m. at Better Built Barns, which is located at 980 Happy Valley Rd.

A semi-truck was on fire. Personnel reported smoke and flames from the passenger compartment of the truck.

A hose line was deployed and the fire was extinguished. Units were at the scene approximately 45 minutes.
